About The Author:
Born in 1935 in Mangrole, Gujarat, India, Mohammed Ismail Memon Madani is a Pakistani-Canadian novelist, teacher, and scholar of Islam. Before moving to Karachi, Pakistan, to attend Dow Medical College to earn a medical degree, he completed his early education in Mangrole. He temporarily worked as a doctor, but Islamic studies was his real area of interest.Having significantly influenced Islamic education in Pakistan and Canada, Memon Madani was well-regarded as a scholar and educator. He was a fervent supporter of Muslim women's rights and unafraid to speak out against Islamophobia. His works and teachings are still widely read among Muslims today, having a profound effect on how Islam is perceived and practiced both in Canada and around the world.
